Well, it finally happened the weather broke after days and days of very hot weather and no rain. We finally got some relief and much needed rain. I’m not sure it will help the crops out much and that is sad. I guess we have to hope for the best. The yards around town are a sad shade of yellow and very crispy. The big flowerpots around town and at HPV remain nice thanks to the faithful watering of Gary Lillemoen. Many, many thanks Gary. The residents LOVE the big pots of flowers. They get a chance to see them when the weather permits, and they get a chance to get outside. So many thanks to Gary and Tana who tend to them.
This morning the residents are busy singing in the front parlor. They can really “belt” those songs out. They are doing a little singing while they wait for the Petting Zoo to arrive. We are expecting a goat, a sheep, llama, and a pony. That should be fun for them. Be sure and watch our Facebook page for pictures. The Activity Department does such a good job sharing the residents “in action”. Be sure to take a look, you may see someone that you know and love.
Just a quick reminder, we still have our 2026 Fundraiser going on. We are looking to upgrade our wheelchairs and purchase some special needs chairs. Many thanks to those of you who have made a memorial or a donation to this project. We are most grateful.

Wednesday August 12th-Breakfast Club, Room Visits, Alyx and the Boys will be here, Joan the Popcorn Queen will be making Popcorn, Worship, Trivia, Pie and Coffee in the Coffee Shop from 1:00 to 4:00, Beverage Cart
Thursday August 13th-Room Visits, Jeopardy, Family Feud, Trivia, Bingo, Beverage Cart
Friday August 14th-Room Visits, Manicures, Gift Shop will be open from 1:30 to 2:30
Saturday August 15th-Coffee Shop open from 10:00 to 11:00 for shopping, Trivia, Wheel of Fortune, Beverage Cart

I cannot get over the fact that we are headed to the middle of August. Where does all that time go? I know a few farmers have started their harvest, the Fall sports schedules are out, practice is getting underway, and the Christmas decorations have started to make an appearance in the stores!
I hope you make each day a blessing and fill it with all the love you can. Oh, and those sunsets and sunrises, are worth getting up for. Thank you all for everything you do for us. the support you show for HPV is second to none and it does not go unnoticed.
