Hello everyone, It's Ronda with the weekly HPV News-

So, here we are still locked down, no new news. The really good thing is that we are all well and doing ok. This Virus is spreading like wildfire and we are doing our best to keep it out and to keep our staff and residents well. We are aware how hard this is on everyone and patience is not one of our strong suits, but in this case, there really is no choice. So hang in there, clean a closet, watch some TV, phone a friend, or like me, try to be a Teacher to my Grandkids. I appreciate their teachers so much more now and I know why they have recess.

Here at the Village we keep busy with daily routines, makeshift activities that keep us socially distanced, lots of one-on-ones with residents.  If you have Facebook check us out.  There are lots of pictures to keep us all in contact. Also, we have had so many people do so many nice things for all of us. Thank You so much.  Not for just the food and treats, but the kind words, well wishes, and prayers you have sent our way. I know I always say this but we are Blessed with the Best, best Community, Friends, and Families. This really does make this so much easier.

On the weekend we came up with a new visiting plan. We let a couple of family members into our the front entry (there is still a set of glass doors into the nursing home).  We then brought the resident to the other side of the glass door and family and resident talked to each other over cell phones. This was a very positive experience and went over well. We welcome you to try this if you would like. The only thing is that we would like you to call in advance so we can have them ready. With no disrespect intended I have  to tell you in kind of reminded me of a Law and Order show, where the inmate receives a visit from someone and in this case the questions were probably Where were you in March 2020, Who were you with, Where have you traveled. No all kidding aside, the folks that got a chance to do this were more than happy just to see their Resident/Family. it brought tears and happiness. I was in on the one visit and I would totally encourage you to try it. It looks like we are in this for the long haul, so let's make the best of it and get this thing under control.

As far as staff, we are under a no travel advisery.  In the mornings we wash our hands, have our temps taken, go over any symptoms we may have. We miss you too and just want to be back to normal. So we will see what happens in the next 30 days; hopefully it will be good news.

Happy Birthday this week goes out to Gracy Leland and Mindi Mehus! Happy Birthday!
