Caregiver Award

Ronda Hanson Named HPV’s 2016 Caregiver of the Year

Ronda Hanson, a CNA, was chosen by Hatton Prairie Village’s Board of Directors as its 2016 Caregiver of the Year.  This award represents excellence in the workplace and exceptional care of residents.

The Board considered 5 nominees, all who had been nominated by residents and/or family members for North Dakota Long Term Care Association’s state-level Caregiver of the Year award.  The comments from Ronda’s nominations show a person who is
committed to making a good life for residents.  Here are some of the comments from residents/family members who nominated Ronda:
“She forms strong bonds with her residents and is vested in making sure their needs are fulfilled.”
“She cares deeply about what she does and about HPV and this motivates her to do so many things for her residents above and beyond her job description.”
“She knows how to make HPV a comfortable and homey place for residents and families.  She knows what to look for and do to keep residents in tip top shape.”
“She is very good to me.  Always fun and happy and never refusing me anything.”
“She’s a home town girl that knows most of the residents and families personally.”

Ronda has worked at HPV for 25 years and has been nominated before for North Dakota’s Caregiver of the Year.  “She is also Hatton Prairie Village’s No. 1 marketing weapon” says Cindy Tredwell, Administrator.  “Her weekly column appears in 4 area newspapers and on KMAV and it’s like you’re sitting next to Ronda for a good visit about life here at HPV.”

“It’s pretty exciting” says Ronda Hanson.  “It’s so nice to be nominated by long-time family friends, Bernie and Nita Johnson.  Over the years I’ve seen a change in how much more CNAs are respected in their careers.  I believe what we do is important and meaningful.”

The award was presented at HPV’s annual Employee Recognition Dinner, June 27, at Lakeview by Toby Lake.
