Caregiver Award

Dean Lyste Named HPV’s 2017 Caregiver of the Year

Dean Lyste, Chaplain, was chosen by Hatton Prairie Village’s Board of Directors as its 2017 Caregiver of the Year.  This award represents excellence in the workplace and exceptional care of residents.

The Board considered 17 nominees, all who had been nominated by residents and/or family members for North Dakota Long Term Care Association’s state-level Caregiver of the Year award.  The comments from Dean’s nominations show a person who lives his faith and is a great comfort to people. Here are some of the comments from residents/family members who nominated Dean:

Dean has been HPV’s chaplain for 10 years and has been nominated several times before for North Dakota’s Caregiver of the Year.  “Dean is our cherished chaplain”, says Cindy Tredwell, Administrator. “He lifts up our spirits with his warmth and smile and faith.  He is always there when needed; a comforting presence during and at the end of a resident’s life”.

“It takes everyone working together to make HPV so special” says Dean Lyste.  “So to be recognized when there are so many who are so deserving is very humbling.  I am very thankful to serve as Chaplain in such a caring facility.”

The award was presented at HPV’s annual Employee Recognition Dinner, June 26, at Lakeview by Toby Lake.
